I am glad you stopped by Well. you know now. This is my newest blog.

My nickname and the name I blog under is Dory. I like random facts and I go off on tangents. I am sure I was a nightmare student because I often wanted to learn something other than what was being taught.

A former boss once told me I had a butterfly brain, flitting from one thing to the next and, having worked as a journalist for more than 30 years, I find there are always questions to be answered. And it’s my role to find those answers.

My interests include history, archaeology, geography, travel, languages and etymology, geology, ecology and nature conservation, art, literature and mythology. So that is pretty much what you will find here.

I have other blogs. One is more a personal diary (Dory’s World) and the other (Dory’s Eye) is a showcase for my love of photography.

This blog is simply a meaningless collection of random stuff that I have discovered and found interesting. And I figured that if I find them interesting, there is a slight chance someone else might do too.
